Andy visited us this week to service the wood burning stove and chimney in our new house in Harpole. His service was simply outstanding.
Andy arrived bang on time and, like the best technicians, he explained
clearly what he'd be looking for during the course of his inspection and
service. It’s clear that Andy has a profound knowledge of his trade.
The job was far tougher than either of us had anticipated. There was a
huge bird nest in the top of the chimney, whose contents filled a bin
liner. It took five full 'sweeps' before the chimney was clear. A job
that would normally take less than 60 minutes, took over three hours.
Andy's fee in no way reflected the time and effort required to complete
the task.
He'll be back on Friday to install a couple of chimney cowls.
